Transtec co-sponsoring the 1st international conference on translation and localization

TRANSTEC for Translation and Localization is sponsoring the 1st International Conference on “Recent Trends in Translation Technology” to debut at Misr International University (MIU) on April 6th and 7th, 2019.

On a one-of-its-kind conference, TRANSTEC empowers translation and localization experts with local and global insights about what is exactly going on nowadays in the translation technology. Two full enlightening days tackling several interesting topics, all addressing the new trends in translation technology including research papers, presentations, workshops, and discussion panels.

What makes that conference stand out is the fact that all topics will be submitted by academics and market leaders from international, regional and local spheres, under the auspices of Dr. Laila Rizk, Dean of the Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication.

The conference will be guesting the academic keynote speakers: Mikel L. Forcada from Universitat d’Alacant in Spain, and Lynne Bowker from the University of Ottawa in Canada. And form the business sector, the conference is honored to have Dr. Julian Zapata, Founder and President of InTr Technologies, with a Ph.D. in translation from the University of Ottawa in Canada, and Dr. Mohamed-Ali Ibrahim, Middle East Manager of the Austrian Standard Institute, who will highlight the International Standards in the Translation Industry. The conference will also be witnessing the participation of regional academic institutions including King Saud University, represented by Ibrahim Al-Qarni and Mohammad Al-Jabali.

On the first day of the conference, a very remarkable discussion panel on “What does the translation market want?” will be convened at 4:30 – 5:45 including market leaders representing high-profile corporate, where Mr. Ahmad Mutamad, CEO of TRANSTEC will share insights on the updated skills and competencies needed to excel in today’s translation market. The discussion panel will include Ms. Manal Amin, CEO of Arabize, Eng. Wafaa Mohiy Director of Saudi Soft, Dr. Nadia El Gewely, from Reuters, Dr. Julian Zapata from InTr Technologies, Canada, and will be chaired by Mr. Sameh Al-Sharqawi, ISO 17100 Lead Auditor and Certified TSP.
